Located on the edge of a pretty
village with all amenities and an 11th century church, the apartment
is suitable for a couple wanting to visit the chateaux of the Loire
Valley, near Saumur, Angers and Tours, near the vineyards of Bourgeuil,
Chinon and Saumur in a relaxing setting. Horse riding, walking, fishing
or simply just relaxing.
Saumur is the home of the Cadre Noir Cavalry Regiment and the National
Riding School of France, so that in addition to the many cultural
events, there are many equestrian events. The nearest public swimming
pools are at Noyant and Le Lude.
The Loire Valley, also known as the Garden of France, boasts a
micro-climate which gives us warm summers and generally mild winters.
The Kings of France built their chateaux here, so they obviously knew a
thing or two! Chateaux visits are a must when you come to the area, so
too are the vineyards for wine-tasting and if you enjoy the wines why
not take some local ones home as a reminder of a great holiday.
The area is eminently suitable for cycling, walking, horse riding,
fishing and just generally "chilling out". Golfers please note we have
many excellent golf courses, one of the best is located 13 km from the
house. We are about 1.5 hours drive from Futuroscope at Poitiers, two
hours drive from the wonderful beach of La Baule, an easy drive with
good autoroute links. Visit Tours with its wonderful old town and of
course good shopping, or Angers with its Chateau and incredible Tapestry
of the Apocalypse.
The village itself has a baker, butcher, two bars one of which does
meals, and a separate little restaurant. There are several brocantes and
"Vide-greniers" held throughout the year in the village and in others
around.
The apartment: With an access by an exterior
staircase the apartment is completely self contained. It has heating and
air conditioning and has a large, comfortable lounge with Satellite TV,
video and DVD player. There is one double bedroom, a shower room and a
well fitted kitchen / dining area, with cooker, microwave, fridge,
freezer. A washing machine is available.
Outdoors: Plenty of parking, balcony / terrace, BBQ, bicycles
available. There is a private terrace with a canopy cover and seating
for six persons, a barbecue and sun loungers.
The property is very easy to reach by ferry, the nearest ferry port is
Caen (3 hours away), or Le Havre (3.15 hours), Cherbourg (4 hours) and
St Malo (3 hours). It is a five hour drive from the Eurotunnel at
Calais. Access to the autoroute is 15 kms away from the property. The
property is also served by cheap flights daily to Tours from London
Stansted by Ryanair. There are car hire facilities at Tours Airport
which can be reserved on line when booking flights. It is only 45
minutes from Tours to the apartment.
Situé à deux pas d'un petit village avec commerces et l'église du 11ème
siècle, l'appartement convient au couple qui désire visiter les châteaux
de la Loire, près de Saumur, Angers et Tours, il est proche des
vignobles de Bourgeuil, Chinon et Saumur, dans un ambiance calme. Il
existe des possibilités d'equitation, randonnés, la pèche,le golf tout
près, ou simplement de détente.
Saumur est le centre du Cadre Noir, et l'Ecole d'Equitation National de
la France, donc en plus des spectacles culturelles, il existe aussi
plusieurs evènements équestres. Les piscines les plus proches sont au
Noyant et Le Lude.
La Vallée de La Loire, le Jardin de La France, bénéfice aussi d'un
micro-climat qui nous donne un climat chaud en été et en général des
hivers doux. Les Rois de la France ont bâti leur châteaux ici, qui va
tout dire! Il faut visiter au moins un ou deux châteaux quand vous nous
rendez visite, également profiter des dégustations des vins du pays en
modération!
La région convient au promenades en vélo, à pied, l'équitation, la pèche
et tout simplement la détente. Pour les gens qui aiment le golf, nous
avons plusieurs parcours, un des meilleurs est à 13 kms de la maison.
Nous sommes à 1.5 H de route de Futuroscope à Poitiers, 2H de la plage à
La Baule, avec des autoroutes assez proche. Pour les boutiques nous
avons Tours avec la vieille ville et Angers à côté.
Le village comprend boulangerie, boucher, petit alimentation,deux bars
dont un qui fait restaurant et un autre brasserie/créperie. Il y a des
brocantes et vide-greniers pendant l'année dans le village et ses
alentours.
L'appartement: Accès privé par un escalier extérieur, l'apartement offre
le chauffage centrale et climatisation. Il comprend un grand séjour avec
TV plus satellite, DVD et hifi. Une grande chambre double, salle d'eau
avec WC, cuisine aménagée avec frigo/congélateur, micro-onde, cuisinière
au gaz et coin repas. Machine à laver mise à disposition des clients.
Extérieur: Parking, terrasse, BBQ, vélos disponibles. Terrasse comprend
tonnelle avec table et chaises pour 6 personnes, et des lits de plage.
