Our pretty house is situated in a lane with 3 other houses, and plenty of parking nearby. The stream passes by on the other side of the lane and meanders through the village. The ducks like to be fed here each morning with leftover bread!

It has been recently and sympathetically renovated and is filled with character, plus there is a pretty garden with decking areas at the back. For a relaxing and peaceful holiday it is ideal and is within easy distance of wonderful sights, beaches and many other amenities.

Situated only 20 minutes from the historic medieval town of Dinan, in the lovely lakeside village of Jugon Les Lacs. There are many facilities within a few minutes walk of the house. Two Bakers, a Butchers, a local General Store/Off Licence, two Bars, a Creperie, a Pizzeria, 2 good Restaurants and a Chemist. The main square is the place to go on Friday evenings from the middle of July, as both locals and visitors get together for a knees up with music, wine and food. Le Bar Baroque in the village often has live music from local musicians which makes for an excellent evening's entertainment.

It is only a 30 minute drive to reach the glorious sandy beaches on the coast or you can take a swim in the well equipped swimming pool complex in Jugon (5 minutes walk from the house).

There are many golf courses within a short drive including a French open championship course at Val St Andre, and several good equestrian centres which arrange lessons and treks. A nearby karting track is available for the big boys.

For any not so nice days there is an ice skating rink and indoor bowling in St Brieuc (approx. 30 minutes drive) and also a Bowling Alley in Dinan.

Edge of village square     Lavoir in Jugon     St Malo beach

Dinan, a medieval town, is a must for a day out with its well preserved castle, quaint streets and buildings. The famous Rue Jerzual is a very steep narrow lane down to the old port of Dinan but the way back is not for the fainthearted!! It has a very large market here in the middle of the town on a Thursday morning.

St Malo, is not just a port but a beautiful town in its own right, the walled city, was heavily bombed during the second world war, but has been wonderfully restored and is full of sights, good restaurants and shops. There is also a very good aquarium which is worth a visit.

Mont St Michel is a stunning place to visit only 1 hour's drive from the house. It is built out into the bay and the town is topped by an amazing abbey, the spires of which can be seen inland for miles. The tidal ranges are world famous and it is said the incoming tide can beat a galloping horse! Market days vary, there is a small market in the village on a Friday morning, although Dinan on Thursday mornings and Dinard on Saturday morning are probably the largest and well worth a visit to buy typical Breton presents and souvenirs.

Getting here:

Our nearest port is St Malo (just half an hour from here) which is serviced by Brittany Ferries. It is also easy to travel to Cherbourg, Caen or Le Havre. If you want a cheaper ferry crossing try Speedferries and Transmanche (but you will have to drive a bit further)

If you prefer to fly, then Ryanair have routes into Dinard which is just 20 minutes away where you can hire a car or get a taxi. Ryanair have just started a new route from Newquay to St. Brieuc for those of you who live in the South West of England. BMI also fly from Southampton into Rennes. Do look at mid-week flights as we can be flexible and there are many bargains to be found.

Our proximity to the N176 makes travel to and from our home very easy. We would recommend car hire directly from Europcar, Hertz or Avis. Book in advance for the best deals

Our house is available from May to the end of October and can be rented for any combination of days to give you complete flexibility with your holiday so that you can take advantage of cheaper ferry crossings or flights.
