Sete, is an ancient port
on the Mediterranean coast. Just south of Montpellier and west of
the Camargue, it is close to the wine growing regions of Corbieres and
Fitou and is a lively bustling town all year round.
Cap St. Louis. These comfortable apartments, overlooking the sea,
are set in a landscaped piazza with a residents-only pool and are
situated between the old town and the Corniche's long golden sands.
Within the same complex is a three star hotel with its own restaurant
open to non-residents; also bars/cafes/restaurants/hairdresser and a
nearby laundrette.
Within easy walking distance is the town centre with elegant
shops and tea-rooms, indoor and outdoor markets, theatres, cinemas,
lovely squares and a flower market. Cafes, bars and restaurants border
the three canals running through this busy town. Rising above the town
and Cap St. Louis is Mont St.Clair. The walk to the top is rewarded by a
spectacular view of the Mediterranean, the Town, and the Basin de Thau
with its famous Bouzigues oyster beds. For the less energetic there is a
bus - and of course the car. Passenger and charter sailings are
available from boats on the canals. Also port sailings to Morocco.
