La Cruliere is a little piece of paradise, and is situated at the end of a winding country lane, in the Vendean Bocage; a place of forests, spectacular lakes, rolling hills, sleepy villages, and fields of golden sunflowers.  The farm is set within eleven and a half acres, mostly parkland, including an ancient woodland area, where woodpeckers, buzzards, and various varieties of birds can be watched. Visitors can meander through the woodland and parkland, sit on natural benches and enjoy peace and tranquillity; or picnic in total isolation, with only the chatter of the birds as company.

The ground floor apartment is large and light, and furnished to a high standard, there is open plan living accommodation, full kitchen, large bedroom, with twin beds, and French doors leading to a patio area, with furniture; a lovely sunny place for breakfast. The apartment has a hall for coats and seating, and a separate bathroom and toilet. There are books and a D.V.D. player. The apartment has heating, and is open all year, as is the B and B at the farmhouse.

There are washing and drying facilities, an all weather barbeque area, private sunbathing and sitting areas, miles of country walks and bike rides just outside the door. Most of the time all you will hear and see are the various birds of prey as they circle the air currents, and call to each other.

The famous medieval village of Vouvant and the picturesque area of Mervant, including the Massive Mervant Forest, are just ten minutes away, where large lakes sit between deep gorges, and deer roam freely. The bustling renaissance spa town of Fontenay le Comte is ten minutes south, built either side of the river Vendee where several beautiful and architectural bridges, usually adorned with flowers, join the two sides.  The coastal resort of La Rochelle is forty-five minutes west, where fresh seafood is a must and the beaches of the Vendee stretch for miles. The port of St. Malo, and Dinan airport are just over three hours drive.

This area of the Vendee is not only picturesque but is suitable for all as there are several feature parks such as the Put De Fou and Future scope, Cognac and the Chateaux of the Loire are all within easy reach. Horse riding, fishing and swimming are all available nearby.
