Estival is the ideal place to stay for those wanting a break from all the housework and needing some time away from slaving over a hot stove. These fine Breton stone guesthouse and Cottages are located in beautiful countryside. We boast six comfortable rooms with excellent facilities in the guesthouse, a superb restaurant and welcoming hosts. Estival is an ideal stopover point en-route from St Malo but also the perfect base from which to visit the beautiful and historic region of Brittany. The beaches of Saint Malo, St. Lunaire, St. Cast, St. Juvat and St. Briac to name just a handful, that the French say are amongst the most beautiful in France, are around 20 minutes away. Small rocky pools, wonderful clean sandy beaches, a haven for kids and adults alike.The little historical towns that are scattered all over our area make for great days out. We have a town nearby which is famous for its book shops, another that is getting more popular each year for the artists who live there. Each town prides itself on its ancient church and history, they are waiting there for you to discover them yourself. If eating out is more your idea of a good holiday then you most definitely have come to the right place. Cancale, just a few miles east of St Malo is rightfully famous for its locally-caught oysters and mussels. There are enough sea food restaurants in this small town for you to eat at a different one each day for a couple of months or more. For meat as well as fish courses, Dol de Bretagne has many restaurants which we can recommend, as has Combourg, Dinan and St Malo. Or you can get lost in the countryside and discover your own little gem of a restaurant to eat at!

The House: Estival was originally a Breton farmhouse and stables and was extensively restored in 1992. There is a large and safe car park immediately in front of the house and from there you can take many different walks into the countryside.Other walks will take you through the mysterious and magical forests that the Breton peoples themselves love to wander through

The B&B Rooms: Estival has six rooms for you to choose from, two of which form a suite. All rooms are bright and airy with views of the garden or countryside and are very comfortable, all having well sprung beds to ensure you have a good night's sleep after a delicious meal in Estival's own restaurant (open to residents only), washed down with a bottle or two of French wine from Estival's good value wine list. The guest rooms all have en-suite or private shower and toilet and are well fitted, having sufficient drawer space for longer stays as well as wardrobes and cupboards. Excellent towels are provided (changed every two days if you are staying longer). All rooms include a hairdryer and electric razor sockets. There are single and double rooms and you can choose whether you wish to stay on a bed and breakfast basis or half board including four course dinner as well.

Estival also has a pair of rooms sharing their own private entrance and bathroom - a family suite. The rooms consist of one room with double bed and the other with twin single beds. A further single bed can be put in the twin bedded room comfortably at a small additional cost.

Please note smoking is NOT permitted in the bedrooms.

Hibou Cottage.

The cottage is perfect for two couples, both bedrooms having their own en-suite facilities. We do accept families with well-behaved children but please note we do not have any swings, slides, see-saws etc. Gîte has all the following; dishwasher, washing machine, microwave,  full cooker, electric kettle, coffee maker, iron and ironing board and lots more!

Outside patio furniture, gas BBQ, TV, CD & cassette stereo, electric central heating, (charged by meter).

Arrival time at Estival is from 4:30pm. Could any guests expecting to arrive later than 7.30pm please let us know, either at their time of booking or at their earliest possible convenience
