Set in the Regional Natural Park of Haut Languedoc and overlooked by its medieval tower, Roquebrun sits on the river Orb and is often referred to as 'Le petit Nice'. Due to its own microclimate, it boasts 300 days of sunshine per year and its Mediterranean gardens are not to be missed. Orange, olive, fig and mimosa trees abound and the whole village is surrounded by vineyards. The local wines of Roquebrun and St Chinian are some of the best in the Hérault and tasting is a must. The village has two very good restaurants as well as a bakery, small supermarket, post office, tobacconists, bar and wine producers. There is also an English-speaking estate agent for those who are interested in looking at property in this area.

Local activities include walking, kayaking, swimming, tennis and cycling. There are several golf courses within a 30 minute drive through stunning scenery. For those who wish to venture further afield, there are many pretty towns and villages close by where one can visit markets, explore the streets and squares and experience the café culture. The nearest major town is Béziers which is a 30 km drive towards the Mediterranean coast. The Mediterranean beaches are just 30 minutes from Roquebrun. Local airports are Montpellier, Carcassonne and Toulouse; car hire is very reasonable in France. The village is easily accessible from the A9.

Maison des Cloches is a newly renovated townhouse at the top end of the village, situated just below the Mediterranean Gardens. With spectacular views of the mountains, it is the perfect place to unwind.

Sleeping six, the accommodation comprises: spacious lounge/living area, new fitted kitchen, terrace and WC. Upstairs, there are two double bedrooms, one twin bedroom and a modern bathroom with bath and shower. The house has been refurbished to a high standard and offers holidaymakers a home away from home. The comfortable surroundings provide a great base from which to explore the local area or simply relax and enjoy the scenery.
All bed linen and towels (including beach towels and mats) are included, as is a welcome pack on arrival. The proprietor is on hand and will do her best to help with anything you may need. We hope to make your stay as memorable and as stress-free as possible.
