Location : The villa is situated on the edge of the village of St Nazaire about 4 km from Narbonne close to the Canal du Midi. The village has a post office, bakery, newsagent, mini market and restaurant. There is a pharmacy in the next village of St Marcel. A very good supermarket is a 5-minute drive away, with petrol station and pizza hut. The golden beaches of the Mediterranean are about 20 minutes drive away. Le Somail, which is within walking distance, is right on the Canal du Midi and has boats for hire by the day and small paddleboats for children. It also has two good restaurants and a small tea-room.

Accommodation : The accommodation is self-contained on the ground floor of the villa and can sleep up to 8 people in; 1 double room, 1 twin room, and 1 double room with 2 bunk beds. The double (Chinese Room) has its own private shower, washbasin and WC. The twin (Blue Room) has en-suite, as does the Pine Room. A bed settee is also available in the large Studio/ dining room area and this has access to a shower and WC without having to enter a bedroom. Cots and other beds are available for young children. All rooms have tea or coffee making facilities. Bed linen and towels are provided.

The Studio/dining room/lounge area is 8m x 5m and is furnished in the 1950s style with a bar, and kitchen facilities, settees etc. The kitchen is fully equipped with fridge, separate freezer, electric cooker with oven and a microwave; clothes washing facilities are available if required. A large patio door leads to a BBQ area and private sitting space with table and garden chairs. There is a garden and another large patio to the side of the house, which gets the sun all day. There is a large courtyard in front of the house with secure parking for 3 - 4 cars. Other photographs are available by Email or post if required.

A 4.5 metre octagonal pool is available for the sole use of apartment guests.

Activities : Safe swimming with a full time lifeguard is about 10-minute drive away. There are boats on the Canal du Midi at Le Somail a few minutes away by car. We are within easy reach of many lovely beaches on the Mediterranean with boats, swimming and water sports etc. The Narbonne Plage is about is about 20 minutes drive.

There are exhibitions, local markets, fetes, Cathar castles, Rennes le Chateau, Minerve and many interesting sites connected with the Knights Templars. The stunning gorges of Galmus and the Tarn, there are countless wine caves in the Corbieres, Fitou, Riversaltes and Minervois regions to visit and the Spanish border and the Pyrenees Moutains are only 1 hours drive away. There are many Art Centres and the Dali museum at Figueres about 1 ½ hour’s drive away.

Excellent shopping can be enjoyed in Narbonne, an ancient Roman city with the Cathedral of Saint Just which has free organ concerts in the summer. It has many Roman remains and museums, stylish modern shops, restaurants and cafes to enjoy. The Midi Canal runs through the centre of the city and there is a market twice a week well worth a visit and a stunning indoor food market in the centre. There is also a sports centre and large in door swimming pool also an ice rink with all the modern facilities.

Carcassonne probably the best and most impressive medieval Fortress City in the world are about 40 minutes drive. Andorra with its stunning scenery and tax free shopping is about 2.5 hrs away

Access : Travel is easy with budget flights from Stanstead to Carcassone 40 mins from the villa and flights from Gatwick to Toulouse about 1 hours drive. Cars can be hired at both Airports. If you are coming by car you can cross to Calais either by ferry or the Euro Tunnel and you have motorway all the way to Beziers which is only about 20 mins from the Villa, full directions can be provided if you need them.
