This charming house is set into the hillside thus from the street you appear to be entering a two-storey building but there is a 3 rd level below street level leading into the terrace & long garden. The house being considerably higher than the one next door The entire house is more than 200 years old & fully renovated with original exposed oak beams & rafters. The properties are adjoining, and offer the facility of being booked together. Both have terraces and garden area  with stunning views. An ideal location with bakers, pharmacy and general store just 5 mins walk away and a short drive from the historic hilltop town of Fanjeaux and also to Castelnaudary, a thriving market town.

This is a location which allows you to visit with ease much of the area’s charm, beauty and history. Although a peaceful situation in this outside road of Villasavary, you have nearby road links to the A61  which takes you north to Toulouse in less than 1 hr and south to the sunny Mediterranean beaches in approx the same time. The medieval bastide town of Mirepoix is less than 30 mins drive, where you can people watch in one of the many bars and restaurants in the historic square;  there is a regional market every Monday all year round. The ancient city of Carcassonne is some 25 mins drive only with its fairytale appearance and bustling atmosphere, and 45 mins takes you to the higher Pyrenees, with ski resorts just 1 hour away. There are the Cathar castles to be explored,  and  the Spanish  borders both coastal and inland to Andorra are easily accessible within 2 hrs from this property.

Accommodation:
Property 1: The front door brings you into the large open plan kitchen / living / dining room, the kitchen being recently  equipped with washing machine, hob & oven. There is good size dining table with 6 chairs, corner lounge seating and open plan staircase that leads up to the 1st floor. There is a WC also situated off from this bright room, and a door leads onto the first terrace, which has a table and steps leading down to a further larger terrace and garden area, where you can enjoy the sun all afternoon, with unspoilt views across the surrounding countryside. Sun loungers are available & a BBQ is provided. The first floor landing leads to 3 bedrooms, 2 with stunning views across the valley. Bedroom 1 has a double bed, bedroom 2 has a further double bed and bedroom 3 doubles as a teen room with sofa-bed which can convert to 2 singles if required. There is a  large full bathroom with both bath and separate shower cubicle.

Property 2: The main living room is comfortably furnished, open plan and has a wood burning stove. There is a stunning view across the valley from the window to the rear. The kitchen, with fridge freezer, gas cooker and  washing machine, is down stairs and opens out onto the terrace and long garden, where there are table chairs and sun loungers. Bedroom 1 has a double bed, & views to the valley, bedroom 2 has 2 single beds and the landing space can accommodate a further bed, one of the sofas is a bed settee also. The tiled bathroom has full bath with shower attachment, wc & basin.

Property 1;                            3 bedrooms: Sleeps 6 to 8: £275 to £550
Property 2;     2 bedrooms: Sleeps 4 + baby/small child: £225 to £450

Booked together will attract 10% deduction on overall price.
1 set of bed and bath linens are included in the price during high season. Local charges apply for mid stay laundry if requested and out of season rentals.
Welcome packs are available. Changeover days  may be flexible out of high season and shorter term stays are considered out of high season also.
A 25% Deposit will secure bookings, with balance & security deposit due 8 weeks before arrival.
