Issirac is a beautiful hilltop village of old stone houses on high ground, ten minutes drive from both the Ceze and Ardeche rivers.   It is surrounded by lavender fields, fruit trees and vineyards.  It is 60km north-west of Avignon and 30km west from the A7 autoroute at Bollene.

A wide range of activities, such as swimming, fishing and canoeing, are within easy reach, and there are superb walks and cycle rides from the house itself.  The Cevennes National Park and the Camargue are each an hour and a half away and many interesting towns and vineyards on both sides of the Rhone valley are very accessible.   The music festival at Orange takes place in July and there are cultural activities in Avignon, Arles, Nimes and Montpellier.  The Pont du Gard and many other Roman sites are within one hour’s drive.

The old stone house is the south side of the village and has been fully restored as our second home.  It has stunning views over the surrounding countryside to the hills beyond, with the Cevennes mountains in the background.   The house and garden provide total privacy.  The house is comfortably furnished to a high standard for 6 adults or a family of 6/7.   The living room and fully equipped kitchen both have dining tables, and the kitchen facilities include a gas/electric cooker, dishwasher, washing machine and fridge/freezer. There are three large bedrooms, two doubles each with a bath or shower room en-suite, and a third bedroom with two single beds and a folding bed and access to the shower room from the terrace.  A child’s cot is also available. There are plenty of books, radio/cassette/cd player and TV/video player.

Two of the bedrooms, the living room and the shower room open directly on to the long covered south-facing terrace.   There is also an open terrace with table and chairs.  Steps from the terrace lead to the large garden, which is level and mainly grass, with trees and shrubs providing shaded sitting and eating areas, with gas BBQ.  There is a further shower room and WC in the garden and parking for 3 cars.
