l'Ancien Cafe is a gîte located in the peaceful village of Le Vieux-Marché, in the department of Côte d'Armor, Brittany. Lovingly restored, the house is equipped with modern facilities but maintains the charm of open fireplaces and timber frame ceilings.

Facilities include a washing machine and a downstairs WC. It comfortably sleeps seven adults, or six adults + two children. All three main bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. There are games, a ping-pong table and a yard for boules to entertain kids and adults alike and there is access to a rambling, terraced garden, with a patio, stream, hens and rabbits.

The bakery, epicerie and "le chat noir" café/restaurant  are all just 5 minutes walk away in the centre of the village, although for a greater selection of shops and restaurants the town of Plouaret is just two miles away.  The "Sainte-Barbe" offers simple provincial fare at a very reasonable price. Plouaret is also the site of a local market on Tuesdays.  A little further afield lie the ancient towns of Morlaix (market on Saturdays) and Lannion (market on Thursday), where you can find many regional specialities.

The beautiful Breton coastline is close at hand. It is just a twelve mile drive to the beaches at St-Michel-en-Grèves and Locquirec and there are many possible excursions along the picturesque "Côte du granit rose", home to many traditional "crêperies", where a "galette" and cup of cider is the perfect way to round off the day.
