We are an uncrowded holiday destination in the heart of the Dordogne.  At the heart of La Combe, surrounded by trees and bamboo, lies the swimming lake, where children meet to swim and play together. La Combe is a destination in Dordogne-Perigord where you can enjoy a very restful holiday or explore the unique surroundings in a more active manner. This is an area where nature and culture meet; rivers, cliffs and caves, plateaux and valleys, which are a result of millions years of geological evolution. The varied local landscape and typical agriculture and architecture give the area it's pastoral beauty.  Pre-historic sites and cave paintings, temples and abbeys, castles and fortified towns bear witness to more than 300,000 years of humans habitation. The valley of La Combe lies in the triangle Les Eyzies - Le Bugue - St. Cyprien. The area has many footpaths and recognised (G.R.) hiking routes, and bicycles can be hired inexpensively in Les Eyzies; there are also a number of cycle routes scattered through the region. There is plenty to occupy you here, with many activities on offer, but in the high season you can also take part in outings and activities organised at La Combe. These include an introduction to pre-history (Perigord having a number of the premier Cro-Magnon sites); expeditions by canoe on the river Vezere with visits to pre-historic sites; visits to castles and troglodyte dwellings; all of these with an English speaking, internationally qualified guide.
