This detached, 18th century cottage is perfectly positioned for exploring this beautiful region. If you feel the urge to be energetic, the Lac de Guerledan is 10 minutes walk down hill where you will find watersports, kayaking, swimming, pedaloes, fishing, or maybe a trip on the larger boats that cruise round the lake while you enjoy dinner. Fishermen can enjoy the Nantes Brest Canal nearby, and there is a private trout lake at Bon repos, where you will also find an abbey to visit. Nearby is a nice creperie, and beside the river is a cafe bar. Mur de Bretagne is the nearest town, just 3 kms. away, with a small supermarket, good restaurants, bakers and bars, a bank with cash point, tourist info and Breton craft shop and weekly market. The large town of Pontivy is just 25 miutes away, where you will find everything you need, including shopping, eating, and a large chateau. The area is well known for walking, horse riding and bird life around the lake. The cottage is about one hour from the north Brittany coast at Val Andre and from Roscoff. St. Malo is just over an hour, as is historic Dinan with its old town and ramparts. The south coast is as easy easily reached, including  the pretty walled town of Concarneau, and the many lovely beaches.

The Cottage: has been tastefully renovated, retaining it's exposed beams and having a stone chimney with open fire, and all rooms having electric radiators. On the ground floor, there is a tiled hallway with store room holding a clothes drier, cleaning tools and patio furniture. There is also a shower room with bidet and basin, and a separate toilet. The large lounge / dining area has leisure seating around the fireplace, where you will also find a sofa bed if needed. There is a TV with video player, radio / cassette player, and a selection of tapes; you will also find a selection of board games, cards and books. The kitchen is fully fitted with fridge / freezer, microwave, oven with rotisserie, hotplates and extractor hood. 

Upstairs there is a large bedroom with double bed and ample storage for clothing, and a TV that will pick up French channels, and the second bedroom has twin beds. There is a further cloakroom with toilet, bidet and basin.
 

Outside the cottage there is a large paved terrace at the front for sitting and watching the world go past. Car parking is in our lay bye, or in front of the nearby church. The caretaker lives close by in the village to help in the event that you have any minor problems, and to organise linen changes.
