Just 38 kms. north west of St. Tropez, Villecroze is a charming, medieval village boasting a very old church with a clock tower, a general store, boulangerie/patisserie, newsagents, post office, gift shop and tourist information centre. There are also five restaurants in the village, and on occasions the students from the local academy perform in the village square, to the delight of the restaurant diners. Being a typical Provencal village, you can watch, or even join in, a game of boules in the square in the welcome shade of the trees. The old village with its winding lanes and gurgling fountains is surrounded by fields which, every year, produce award winning wines and olive oil, and there is a variety of excellent vineyards to visit in the region.

Salernes, just 10 minutes by car, has a very interesting market in the village square every Sunday morning, and is well known for Provencale ceramic tiles. Villecroze has it's own market every Thursday, but an absolute must is St. Tropez on a Saturday morning. The nearest town is Draguignan, approximately 20 minutes, and the nearest coastal point is St. Maxime, which is approximately 40 minutes drive, with St.Tropez approximately 60 minutes drive.  The Lac de St. Croix, about half an hour, is excellent for swimming, sailing, windsurfing and various other water activities, and the Gorges du Verdon is an area of spectacular local beauty.

The Apartment: is at the front of a large village house, on the second and third floors with an attic room in the top and a small terrace. Useful as either a sitting room or some extra sleeping space, there are magnificent views from here, and access to the terrace is by a small sliding window. The two double bedrooms are on the second floor, as is the shower room with WC. and basin. There is a spiral staircase to the upper floor where you will find an open plan sitting room with dining area. There is a fitted kitchen with split level cooker, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine / dryer. All rooms have electric wall heaters.
