This most imaginatively converted two bathroom house is spacious and light, furnished with antiques and is remarkably comfortable. The peaceful Canal de Bourgogne winds its way unobtrusively round the village of Les Granges and hilltop Grignon is but a short stroll. 'France Profonde' at its best, and a step back to an unhurried age few of us will remember but of which you will become part. Nearby is the World Heritage Abbey de Fontenay, many Chateaux and medieval Flavigny where 'Chocolat' was filmed. Swim in the lakes, cycle the flat canal towpath, walk in the Morvan forest, visit the local markets, go wine tasting and don't forget the excellent and unbelievably inexpensive restaurants. The ancient walled town of Semur en Auxois is close by and well worth a visit. Or just stay at home and relax in the garden, enjoy a barbecue, play ping pong, read a book, or listen to music........

Maison Dean has stone steps that lead to the front door. There is an enormous friendly farmhouse kitchen equipped with all facilities and a small open Burgundian fireplace for the odd cool evening. On the ground floor is a spacious and comfortable sitting room, complete with ping pong table, music system, video player and library. One of the bedrooms has snug bunks with adjoining shower room. Adjacent but separate is a second double bed in a curtained alcove. An elegant polished oak staircase leads to a gallery and main double bedroom overlooking the garden. The en-suite bathroom has a period roll top bath and vast shower, and the whole is carpeted throughout. The house is decorated to a very high standard. From the sitting room, French doors lead to a sunken terrace and thence by way of a vine arch to a lawn, orchard, and other areas of the garden, including an enclosed courtyard where you can have lunch or sunbathe. There is also a barbecue and outdoor furniture.
