The Villa is situated in a small village, Bois St. Jean, 3 miles south of Les Sables d’Olonne, a thriving west coast fishing port. Home of the Vendee Globe Single Handed Yacht Race, the town is a popular holiday destination for French families. It is easily accessed from the excellent French free-ways, and the central position on the coast ensures that the whole of France is within reach.

This part of the Vendee enjoys a warm climate with hot summers and mild winters, making for a perfect holiday destination throughout the year. Beaches are close and beautiful walks and views are all around. The area has many facilities for sports and recreation. Les Sables d'Olonne has large sandy beaches and a sailing school. The fish market on the quayside is famous, with a large indoor food market. There are extensive shopping areas, from designer clothes shops to large supermarkets. There are also many exciting activities, clubs, bars and great surf for the younger at heart!
Another attraction is 'Bourgenay', a holiday village open to the public, which has a golf course, restaurants, bars and boats. This is located a few miles south of the house. The sea-front of the main town provides the location for the 'remblee', an evening event that holds market stalls, shops, bars, clubs and shows.
