‘Maison du Puit’ is a 300-year-old stone house in the village of Aillac, at the centre of the Dordogne Valley. This is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt areas of France with its harmonious countryside and river, its many historical sites, its caves with marvelous natural rock formations and prehistoric cave paintings and its mediaeval chateaux. Everywhere in the region there are lovely villages to visit with colourful farmers’ markets and open-air summer fetes with eating and dancing until the early hours. There are also numerous cultural events such as music festivals and concerts and the area is renowned for the gastronomic delights to be found in its many excellent restaurants.
The House: has two bedrooms, one with a double bed (upstairs) and
one with twin beds (ground floor). There is a living room with TV, radio
and CD player, and an eat-in kitchen equipped with microwave, gas rings,
electric oven, fridge with freezer and washing machine. There is an
en-suite shower off the double bedroom, a bath with shower on the lower
level, and a toilet with washbasin on the ground floor. There is a shaded
patio with garden furniture, which makes an ideal outdoor eating-place,
and behind the house is an open ‘terre communale’, which can be used
by visitors for relaxing and sunbathing. |
