La Garde Freinet “un île en forêt” a small, picturesque hill-top Provençal village steeped in history. It is an ideal location for a peaceful vacation and also offers the chance to visit the major sights of the French Riviera. 25 minutes south of the A 8 and 1½ hours drive from both Nice and Marseille airports; an hour’s drive from Cannes and Antibes and 2 hours from Monaco. This small Var village is situated 16 miles from the Mediterranean sea and the world-famous resort and beaches of St. Tropez and the Côte d’Azur where a wide variety of marine sports and summer activities are available. In addition, it is a perfect base for exploring the magnificent Provence countryside and the beautiful Maures mountains either on foot, by car or rented mountain bike.

The property is reached by roads winding up through vineyards, olive groves and cork oak forests.  Overlooking the village are the ruins of a Saracen fort.  The panorama extends from the Mediterranean in the south to the Alps in the east. La Garde Freinet has several small stores for all necessary provisions, as well as a flower shop, Bank and ATM, pharmacy, a craft centre, hairdresser and a lively twice-a-week Provençal street market.  There is a post office. Restaurants that spill across the quaint, flower-filled pedestrian streets. In July and August, the municipal swimming pool is open to the public.  Wine is available direct from local vineyards.

This simple old stone-built Provençal village house retains its original character and features. Tiled floors, shutters, wooden beams, log fire. Situated in a quiet street within a few minutes walk of the village centre.

Ground Floor:  Stone arched lobby leading to hallway. Two small bedrooms; (each sleeping 2 persons). With en-suite showers and separate w.c. 

First Floor: Sitting/Dining room - spacious and comfortable with Satellite TV/video and CD/radio. Log fire, wooden beams, and a dining table. Small tiled kitchen with a gas oven, fridge/freezer, microwave and plenty of cupboard space. Double Bedroom with en-suite bathroom and a  separate w.c.

Second Floor: Utility area with a washer/dryer. Sunny roof terrace with Gas BBQ and table and chairs for outside dining. 

Electricity and gas is included.
