Pool                La Tour

L'Enclos de la Daby, Le Beausset, Var.
7 properties available, separate or together for larger parties

Set in the Provencal countryside of vineyards and pine forests, with easy access to sea and mountains, lies La Daby. The four houses and a cabanon are set apart from each other on five acres of terraced land, covered with thyme, rosemary and olive trees.
Each house is independent with its own fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. Each has a shady terrace for sitting or dining. They can be rented individually or together. The swimming pool provides a central area for sunbathing and relaxing.

Le Beausset is a little agricultural town, with a perfect square to enjoy food and drink under shady plane trees. There is a good selection of shops and restaurants, two large supermarkets, and a weekly market which is excellent for local produce such as fresh fish, fruit, vegetables, olives and cheeses.
The sea is 20 mins drive away. Les Lecques and Bandol are small ports with excellent water sports facilities, sandy beaches, bars and nightclubs. Secluded rocky beaches can also be found for picnicking and snorkeling. For children, there is Aqualand at Les Lecques and also 'Ok Corral' with the most exciting Big Dipper ride around.
Other excursions for the more adventurous could include a visit ton Aix en Provence with its architecture, galleries, shops, restaurants and famous 'Les Deux Garcons' bar. Arles and Nimes are not far away, with the best bouillabaisse to be found at Chez Fin in Marseille. Outings can also be taken on boats from Bandol which go to the Calanques de Cassis and the Isles des Ambiez.

The Accommodation

Les Chenes Les Lavandes

Les Chenes: Set amongst oak trees and pines, this house is similar to Les Lauriers, with a living room, two bedrooms, a kitchen, bathroom (which includes a dishwasher) and a shady terrace facing south toward the sea. TV set can be rented if required, and the house has a satellite dish for extra channel viewing. All houses have telephone lines available.

Les Lavandes: Les Lavandes is in the heart of the place and is nearest to the pool. It is a central meeting and dining place if more than one house is being rented together. It has a bedroom with a large double bed (which can be split into two if necessary). The living room has two built-in sofa beds on either side of the fireplace which are used during the day as sofas. There is a washing machine in the bathroom and a dishwasher in the kitchen. The terrace, with its shady pergola, has a lovely view facing south toward the village.

Le Cabanon: Alongside Les Lavandes, and also near the pool, Le Cabanon is an original stone building, which is usually let together with Les Lavandes. It consists of a monastic double bedroom, and alongside there is a Lou with a basin, and an outside shower (screened by a giant fig tree).

Les Lauriers

Les Lauriers: Les Lauriers has two double bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two bunk beds. The entrance forms the kitchen, and there is a washing machine in the bathroom. The living room also has two built-in beds beside the fireplace which are used as sofas during the day. The terrace, with its pergola, looks down toward the pool area with its olive trees, and up to the mountains behind.

La Tour: The tower is considered a very romantic place, and set amongst pine trees, there is a great demand from honeymooners! The ground floor living room has a kitchenette tucked under the stairs that curve upwards to the double bedroom on the first floor. The stairs continue up to the second floor, which has a terrace with wonderful views leading out of the bathroom.

The Region

The properties are set in the centre of the Bandol wine region, and therefore most vineyards offer wine tasting, including the most famous; Ott and Tempier. The hill villages of Le Castellet and La Cadiere with their magnificent views and craft shops are all worth visiting.

This part of Provence is beautiful, with the butterflies, wild flowers and gentle sun. All year round you can go riding in the mountains, play tennis, take motor racing lessons at the Circuit de Castellet, rock climbing at Cassis, whale watching off Bandol, or simply eat delicious food, take a walk in the mountains or sit peacefully at home. La Daby offers the perfect base for a holiday that is as active or relaxing as you wish to make it.

Getting here: Marseille airport is just over an hour away, and Toulon motorail terminal is 20 minutes away. The motorway running through Calais from the Cadiere d'Azur is just 10 minutes away. Le Beausset is 20 minutes walk from La Daby, though many of the shops are nearer than this.
