Pomme Rose, with its spectacular views
over the French countryside, is an absolute haven of peace and tranquility.
Our house, with its adjoining gite has a large pretty garden, with several
terraces overlooking the stunning panorama yet on the edge of the lovely
village of Fanjeaux. The village is famous for having 'St. Dominic's' house, and the first convent he founded is nearby. It also has tennis courts, museum, shop, bakery, cafe, restaurant, museum, hairdresser, garage and post office. The region has an abundance of castles, abbeys and monuments, with the medieval walled city of Carcassonne only 23 kilometers away, where you can sample the delights of the shops, cafés, bars, restaurants, live music etc. Wine tasting is widely available throughout the area including Malpere, Minervois, Corbieres and Limoux, only 18 kms away, which is famous for its champagne style wine. The area has wonderful clear fresh air and the walking and horse riding is superb. There are rivers, gorges and lakes for swimming and canoeing, with the Canal du Midi for boating, and 4 golf courses are within easy reach. If you wish to venture further, the Mediterranean beaches are only an hours drive, and Andorra, the Pyrenees and Spain are within easy reach. The Gite: consists of a spacious living/dining room, comfortable furniture, sofa bed and glazed doors onto a terrace, garden and views.
The bedroom has twin beds and wardrobe. Kitchen with fridge, gas hob, microwave, washing machine and all the usual fixtures and fittings. A bathroom with bath/shower, basin, bidet etc. The garden has furniture for your enjoyment, parasols and BBQ. The property is only 30 minutes drive from
