There are 2 freshwater lakes with sandy beaches, bars, water chutes, pedalo hire and supervised swimming within a 20 min drive, and the wine areas of Médoc, St. Emillion, Bergerac, Graves and Buzet are within easy reach. There are several golf clubs in the vicinity and the Pyrenees for skiing are approx. 2 hrs drive away. 

The cottage: makes an ideal retreat for freshwater fishermen, with the Canal Lateral 100 mtrs away and the river Garonne just 150 mtrs away. It offers 2 bedrooms, 1 with double bed and 1 with twin beds, the double being en-suite with a further bathroom adjacent to the twin. The spacious ground floor is in open plan design, featuring a stone fireplace, dining area and a kitchen at one end. There is a TV/video/satellite system, CD/tape player, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and full oven/hob. The kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of cookware, cutlery, coffee machine etc. To the rear of the cottage is a small terrace with loungers, patio furniture and BBQ for outside dining.

Full weekly cleaning and linen is included.

Quickest route: Portsmouth to St. Malo, through Rennes and Nantes on to the A10 at Niort. Approx 350 miles, 5/6 hours mostly dual carriageway.
