La Grange complex comprises a tastefully restored old farmhouse and 3 gites on the edge of the quiet rural village of Villognon, just north of Angouleme. There is a large swimming pool and covered games area with a pool table and table tennis, a petanque court and bicycles. An hours drive North lies the historic city of Poitiers with the renowned Futuroscope, an hours drive to the East is the city of Limoges and the gateway to the Dordogne with its numerous chateaux and grottos including Lascaux with its prehistoric cave paintings. A short drive South there is Angouleme with its impressive Ramparts protecting the historic centre. Angouleme has a golf course, ten pin bowling and an excellent water sports centre (Nautilus Centre). Further West lies Cognac, La Rochelle and Royan. Visit Fort Boyard and the River Charente with its excellent fishing and canoeing.

The local area offers plenty of activities; although situated in a quiet village, it does have a friendly and welcoming bar/tabac and a small shop. There are supermarkets within a 10 minute drive. Close by there is canoeing, tennis, golf and horse riding. There is plenty of entertainment on-site: swimming pool,
a covered games area with a pool table and table tennis, a petanque court and bicycles.

The Properties:

The Farm house - 3 spacious double bedrooms (2 upstairs and one also has bunk beds, 1 downstairs) - all en suite. It has a spacious lounge/kitchen/diner fully fitted for a self catering holiday and has a wood stove for out of season lets. A highchair is available when required.

The Wine Press - 1 spacious en suite double bedroom, also with bunk beds. It has a roomy lounge/kitchen/diner fully equipped. There is a sofa bed, cot and a highchair available.

The Granary - 2 double bedrooms, both with wash basins; one also has bunk beds. It features a large lounge/kitchen/diner again fully equipped. There is a sofa bed, cot and a highchair available. There is a separate shower room.

The Stable - 2 double bedrooms upstairs, both with basins; one also with bunk beds. There is one downstairs bedroom (twin beds) which is en suite and wheelchair friendly. The Stable has a lounge/kitchen/diner which is fully equipped for self catering. The property has a separate shower and wc.

Garden and outside: All gites have barbecue facilities and outside tables and chairs. Parking and garaging: There is adequate parking close to the gite on the property. Ideal for a family with youngsters or for anyone looking to relax and re-charge the batteries

Nearest port: Caen/Ouistreham 380km, St Malo 432km and Cherbourg 566km. La Grange is accessible from various airports at Limoges, Poitiers, Bordeaux and Bergerac. The Eurostar connects with the TGV arriving at Angouleme approx 30 mins from the complex.
