Le Moulin de Maucournet is an early 19th century stone built house which offers comfortable accommodation in a peaceful and rural location. The mill building is 12th Century and it is set in 2 acres of garden and woodland with lots of quiet places to sit. It has been described as romantic and a lovely place to come and relax.
In addition to Bed and Breakfast, the four bedroomed house
can be rented on a weekly basis. The property can sleep 9/10 + cot. The
owners have a separate apartment on site so are on hand if needed. The
pool is shared with the owners only.
All the bedrooms have tea and coffee making facilities and the Trec and Garden rooms have a digital TV.

The Trec Room is a large double room with a family sized bathroom. It overlooks the mill pond and stream – Le Trec which runs alongside the property. It also overlooks most of the back garden and is large enough for extra beds.

The Garden Room overlooks the pool and back garden which sweeps away from the house to a wooded area. This double bedroom is large enough to put in an extra single bed or a cot for a child if required and it has its own en-suite shower room. |

The Meadow Room, a smaller double with en-suite shower room, overlooks the side of the garden and fields beyond.
The Nest is a bedroom with 2 single beds.

There is a swimming pool for cooling off on warm summer days; for the more energetic, walk around the attractive garden listening to the birds; hire a bicycle for a country lane ride. There are some garden games for the more energetic or younger guests. For your safety the swimming pool is alarmed, however, children must be supervised by an adult at all times. |

The area is served by airports such as Bergerac (40 mins by car); Bordeaux (90 mins by car); and Toulouse (2 hours by car). Car hire is available at all of these airports. There is a railway station at the town of Marmande (10 mins) or if you are driving down from the north we can give you directions.

A day at the coast
trying your hand at surfing or body boarding in the Atlantic is
about one and a half hours by car.

Canoeing is available
at either the Canal Lateral (about half an hour by car) or on the
Dordogne (about one and a half hours drive)

Horse riding and golf
are in the area.

For those with more
historical interests, the bastide towns of Eymet, Lauzun and
Miramont are close by with their wonderful markets to browse through
for holiday gifts and souvenirs

The historical town
of Bergerac is a must where you can wander around the wonderful
ancient buildings of the old town and take a river cruise (about 40
mins drive).

The amazing citadel
of Carcassonne is about 2 hours away.

Also within reach are
the wonderful water-lily gardens from which Monet first took
inspiration for his own garden.

If it’s big cities
that you want then Agen, Bordeaux and Toulouse are not far away down
the motorway.
An evening meal is
available table d'hotes fashion if required but needs to be booked
in advance. There are many good restaurants in the area which we are
happy to recommend and make reservations.
