house, sleeps 2.

Situated in Charente
Maritime, in the Southern Cognac region, this beautiful Charente
stone "Maison de Maitre" is set in a hectare (approximately 2½ acres) of
attractively landscaped grounds, with mature trees and large enclosed
swimming pool. The original "Chai" (wine store) and coach house have
been sympathetically renovated to provide, superb, light, spacious
accommodation of two and four bedrooms respectively.
Tranquil, rural setting in the second sunniest area of France. Beautiful
sandy beaches, historic towns of, Cognac, Bordeaux and Saintes are all
within easy reach. Local amenities include fishing, golf, tennis horse
riding, and the fabulous water centre in Jonzac.
The Accommodation:
There are two gites available for hire. We also have "Le Petit Bardon,"
a self-contained living area within the main house.
Les Tournesol: A tastefully restored coach house is the basis for
this four-bedroomed gite. This gite can comfortably accommodate parties
of up to twelve people.

Le Petit Chai: This ground floor converted wine store provides
accommodation for up to five people. This Gite is based entirely on the
ground floor, with tiled floors throughout.

Le Petit Bardon: A well appointed one bedroom property,
comprising: Double-room, living/dining area featuring Charentais stone
fireplace and French windows opening onto the Parc (with seating,
barbeque etc.) Bath/shower room, loo and kitchen are also included.

Now we also hire out: fishing rods/reels and arrange licences. We
also hire out, tennis racquets and bikes!
NB. Well mannered pets are welcome (low season only)!
Places of interest :
Jonzac: Jonzac is the nearest town to Chez Bardon, it is not only
beautifully historic but also boasts a brand new water centre - based on
natural hot springs.
Blaye: Blaye, on the banks of the Gironde river, the economic and
strategic importance of the town dates back to the reign of Louis XIV.
Médoc: The Médoc region is home to some even more impressive
Chateau's and vineyards than Blaye, a short ferry journey across the
Gironde will take you to the region.
Montendre: Montendre is a little village in the Bordeaux area,
with a large lake featuring many water-sports, fishing and a sandy beach
where a visitor may relax. As well as the lake there is a Chateau that's
history dates back to the twelfth century.
Cognac: The town of Cognac is the home of major brands: Hennessy,
Martell and Otard. All of which offer tours of their Chais, whilst this
is the main attraction, Cognac is also a beautiful town in its own right
and worth visiting for sightseeing and shopping.
St George sur Didonne (just south of Royan, 40 min drive) has
Sailing, sand yachting, surfing and wind surfing, and also features
beautiful sandy beaches.
St Genis de Saintonge (30 min drive) has a Karting track
(competition standard) which is open to public every day until 9pm
