The house is named after the small stream that flows along the borders of the property. It is approached through large iron gates (typical of the Charente), which lead into the original farmyard. This is now grassed with a fenced pool in the centre and is enclosed by farm buildings, including an open barn used for barbecues and other entertainments. There are car-parking facilities approached via a side gate, which then leads to the gardens, all of which are enclosed by high walls and are very private.

The house is divided into separate gîtes, each with their own front and rear access, patio and barbecue. The accommodation is spacious and in keeping with its original function as a prosperous working farmhouse and as far as possible the style and character of the house has been retained.
The gîtes are well appointed and the rear garden is sheltered and close at hand and is a pleasant location for breakfast on the patio in the morning sun. The pool area has places for sun bathing as well as areas of shade and is convenient for poolside drinks and evening meals on the patio areas provided for each gîte.

There are two restaurants within easy walking distance, and the local town is only a cycle ride away and although it is small, all the basic amenities are available - restaurants and supermarkets (including an 'open all hours' Spar) and alfresco bars/cafes in the town square. Tennis courts and a children's playground are also provided. The market is particularly good for fresh fish with a selection as good as anywhere in France and less expensive than in Britain. A larger big town is 25 minutes away and offers evening entertainment, with plenty of atmosphere and excellent restaurants and there are a multitude of other towns and things of interest in the area.

The Farmhouse:  This gîte is the main part of the house with a spacious farmhouse kitchen, grand salon and four double bedrooms suitable for two families sharing (eight in total). Patio areas provided outside of the kitchen near the pool and in the rear garden, which catches the morning sun. A barbecue is also provided.

The large farmhouse kitchen is equipped to a high standard, with fridge/freezer; dishwasher, microwave oven, toaster and large cooker are provided. The sitting room is 5 metres square with high ceiling and original open fireplace and is comfortably furnished, also with a television for satellite reception and video. There are 4 spacious bedrooms, one being on the ground floor, the other three are on the first floor, one being en-suite. There is also a shower room on the first floor.

The Cottage: has three large bedrooms sleeping 6/8 people. It has a comfortably furnished sitting room including a colour television for satellite reception and video. A connecting door leads to the kitchen, which has a fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave oven, toaster and full size cooker, and a wooden staircase leads from the sitting room to the upstairs bedrooms. The spacious main bedroom is located on the ground floor, and is en-suite.  The two further bedrooms are on the first floor, along with the shower room. A secluded patio with barbecue is provided outside of the kitchen in the rear garden and there is a shaded poolside patio near to the sitting room.

The garden is sheltered and south facing with tables and chairs for breakfast in the morning sun. The pool is approximately 15 by 30 ft and 4 feet deep.  We have fitted a security fence around the pool for your safety.  Table’s chairs and sun lounge’s are provided. There is a poolside open barn with a built-in barbecue and table tennis table.

There is ample car parking on a gravelled area to the front of the house with a capacity for at least six cars. Family indoors and outdoors games (books, board games, badminton, bowles, and table tennis). A separate area away from the rear garden is provided for ball games. Bicycles. Standard / mountain adult & children's bicycles to use on request.  There is Sky Satellite television, with free view only. A video recorder is provided in each gîte and there is a very large library of films available on request.

There is a laundry room with an automatic washing machine and ironing board and each gîte is furnished with an iron and drying frame.
