Chez Bascle is  Charentaise farmhouse which has been fully converted and modernised and now offers every comfort to the visitor. It is located in a small hamlet, just two miles from the centre of Mirambeau in the Department of Charente Maritime, and close to junction 37 on the A10 Paris-Bordeaux motorway.  There you will find restaurants, supermarket, bakers, butchers etc.  Five miles in the opposite direction is the regional centre of Jonzac, with many supermarkets, shops, chateau, river, and the recently opened resort based on the famous thermal springs.
The area around Mirambeau, on the shores of the Gironde estuary, is a centre for the cultivation of vines, sweetcorn and sunflowers.  The area is within the designated Cognac producing region, and many farms have their own stills to produce brandy, often on sale direct from the producer.  The Bordeaux vineyards are just to the south, with visits to the Medoc, St Emilion, Pomerol and many other famous areas just a pleasant drive away.  To the north are the wonderful miles of beaches of St Georges de Didonne, Royan, with its marina, nightlife, clubs, casinos etc, and then further on- the unspoiled wildness of the long beaches of the Cote Sauvage.

The house: comprises on the ground floor an entrance hall, leading to the 6 by 5 metre dining room and fully equipped kitchen, with gas cooker including oven and grill, washing machine, dishwasher, fridge freezer, microwave, electric kettle, and toaster.  There is also an iron & ironing board. There is also a downstairs cloakroom with toilet and washbasin.

The fully carpeted lounge, about 7 by 6 metres, has two 3 seater settees plus several chairs, and is well supplied with reading lamps and tables.

Stairs lead to the first floor, which has a shower room, with shower cubicle, washbasin, toilet, and tiled floor.  The rest of the first floor is carpeted, and has a seating area with bookshelves and reading light. There are two double bedrooms and a large third bedroom with three full size single beds. One of the double rooms has a small attached room containing a cot.

The property stands in a half acre plot, fenced off from the adjoining properties and including an enclosed area containing a 7 by 4 metre pool.  There is a barbecue, seating area with shade, and plenty of room for vigorous ball games.
