Les Cypres Cottages offer a perfect
holiday setting in the popular South West France near Carcassonne.
Recently converted gite, available for rental all year round with own
heated swimming pool (open April to October), set within owners’
grounds, yet totally independent and private. The cottage is well placed
to explore all that South West France is famous for.
There is the local countryside with such picturesque market towns as
Mirepoix, Bram and Limoux with their variety of restaurants, bars and
markets supplying local delicacies. There are the local vineyards of
Limoux and Cotes de Malpere, and not far away such other well known
names as Corbieres, Fitou and Minervois. The local village of Montreal
(3kms) has two restaurants and various small shops.
Both the Mediterranean coast and the Pyrenees, ideal for walking, skiing
and other outdoor activities depending on the season, are within easy
reach. So are the renowned Cathar castles and prehistoric painted caves,
if history is more your interest. Other possible places to visit include
Toulouse, Narbonne, Perpignan and Foix, and you might even consider a
quick trip across the border into Spain, Barcelona and the Costa Brava.
The nearest beach at Narbonne Plage which has large areas of sand and
lots of room and a water park is 45 minutes on the motorway (80
kilometers).
The cottage: is presented to the
highest standards with AC and heating. In peaceful surroundings, with
own access, garden, large patio with barbeque, swimming pool and parking
area in cypress covered gardens. Stunning views over the countryside to
Pyrenees and picturesque Montreal. Within easy reach of Carcassonne with
its historic walled city, Mirepoix and Limoux with their famous markets,
the Cathar castles and mysterious Rennes-Le-Chateau.
It has an open plan living/dining/kitchen area. Dishwasher,
washer/dryer, microwave, oven, Sky TV, stereo/CD and DVD player. Two
double bedrooms (both en-suite), one with four poster bed, en-suite with
bathroom, bath and WC, the other with en-suite shower and WC. One single
bedroom with bunk beds and foldaway bed next to main bedroom sharing
en-suite bathroom but with own access. Heating throughout the cottage
and A/C in living/dining area and main
bedroom. Adjacent to the swimming pool (sole use for cottage) is a
garden area surrounded by trees with a swing. In front of the house is a
large patio and barbeque with garden furniture for eating outside. Own
parking area for 2 cars.
Little Cypres Cottage is also available to rent October to May only.
Sleeps 2. Separately converted and private from main cottage. Also
presented to highest standards with same stunning views.
Access is easy. Carcassonne airport is 20 minutes away with
Ryanair flights from Stansted, East Midlands, Liverpool, Dublin and
Shannon. There are also Ryanair flights to Perpignan (approx one and
quarter hours) while Easy Jet British Airways, Air France, British
Midland and British European serve Toulouse (also approx one hour). The
cottage is also situated no more than 10 minutes drive from the
Toulouse/Narbonne (A61) motorway.
