Peycibeau Cottage, Peycibeau
Estate,
Near Sarlat, Dordogne
2 Bedrooms, sleeps 4 to 5 people
Nestled in the heart of
the Dordogne, just 8km from the medieval town of Sarlat, Peycibeau
is a truly magnificent property in a truly breath-taking setting, and
staying in the Cottage annexed to the house here, one can enjoy the 42
acres of private parkland and woodland surrounding this typical French
manor-house, together with the solar-heated swimming pool and the
stunning summer house. A rare opportunity for a perfectly relaxing
holiday in absolute seclusion and tranquility.
The owners of the estate, Julia and Glenn, who moved here from England
five years ago, maintain the house and grounds to the highest standards.
This is reflected in the rental accommodation which is contained within
a wing of the ground floor of the house, and which has been recently
decorated and furnished to offer all the comforts of a real home from
home.
There is a large living room, incorporating a newly fitted and
well-equipped kitchen, including a dishwasher, fridge, oven, hob & hood,
microwave, and all the necessary kitchenware. Amongst other items in
this room are a large dining table with chairs, a dresser, sofa bed, and
a radio and television (for viewing DVDs. There are two comfortably
furnished bedrooms, one with a large double bed and the other with twin
beds. Four persons, therefore, can be accommodated perfectly, and a
fifth person could sleep on the large sofa bed in the sitting room. A
cot is also available, and a washing machine, iron etc. and Wi-Fi
internet connectivity.
There is a large bathroom, with a bath and a newly installed separate
shower enclosure, basin & WC.
The guest wing of the house has totally private access, with an
entrance through French doors at the front, and also a door to the rear
garden, where there is a secluded terrace, with BBQ and wooden garden
furniture. A path leads directly to the solar-heated swimming pool which
is daily maintained, and also to the magnificent summer house, which
guests staying in the cottage are invited to make use of and enjoy
during their stay.
Entrance to the property is through electric gates and there is
ample parking close to the house. As well as the hours of fun to be had
in the pool, children have the parkland all around to play safely in and
the surrounding woods to explore - there is a wonderful tree-house and a
large trampoline. For small children there is a play area with swings
and a slide.
The Village of Carsac
is just 15 minutes walk away (2 minutes by car) and offers everything
you need - a Boulangerie - for delicious bread and croissants every
morning! - an excellent butcher, general store, post office (with cash
machine), a chemist and doctor's surgery, the Tabac (bar) and a couple
of restaurants, a Catholic church and the studio of our local artisan
glass-blower. The area is packed with interesting sights and things to
do for adults and children alike – canoeing, castles and caves, lovely
old towns, weekly markets, an abundance of culture and history, far too
much to mention here. Please visit the owner’s web-site for full
