The magnificent "grande-maison" is of huge proportions and is perfectly suited to catering for large numbers, whilst at the same time, various different living areas ensure that guests, if they wish to, can enjoy privacy and independence from each other. The whole property particularly lends itself to those special family occasions and has hosted for example 50th wedding anniversary celebrations with three generations of family gathering together, and also those special birthdays - 40/50/60! - what better excuse for family and friends to come together for a week or two to celebrate! In addition to the wonderful setting, we can offer help in organising certain aspects of your special holiday - for example a chef to come to the house to prepare and serve a delicious gourmet dinner, a sommelier to give a wine tasting and some tips on the great local wines, babysitting and a full maid service so that everyone can enjoy a truly relaxing holiday.


The whole property sleeps 14 to 20 persons, and is available for rental exclusively for the months of July and August, and is made up of the main part of the house together with the adjoining ground-floor cottage, if required. Alternatively, the main part of the house can be rented on its own, sleeping 10 to 14 persons. The main part of the house has 4 bedrooms upstairs - a double bedroom with en suite shower-room and dressing room; a twin bedroom with additional sofa-bed; one of the master bedrooms which adjoins another double bedroom, each with their own dressing room. These three bedrooms share a luxurious central bathroom. Also upstairs is the library. Downstairs is the second of the master bedrooms - a beautiful large suite with French doors opening into the courtyard, it has a double bed and a sofa-bed, an en suite bathroom and dressing room. (The two remaining bedrooms - one double and one twin - are in the adjoining ground floor cottage, which can be accessed from inside the house or independently. There are 2 other sofa beds.) Three of the bedrooms have air-conditioning. If required we have a full size cot, which can be placed in any of the bedrooms, a child bed-guard and also various high-chairs.

There are various reception rooms within the main house, the kitchen and breakfast room, an impressive entrance hall with marble floors and a grand curving staircase, a relaxing morning room and a huge drawing room which has a further large formal dining area, sumptuous leather sofas and even a grand piano! All the living areas have numerous French windows opening out onto the courtyard, which give the house a wonderful indoor/outdoor airy atmosphere.

Once the summer months arrive, the recently completed summer house adds a fabulous new dimension to life at Peycibeau. For the convenience of the swimming pool, it has a bathroom with changing facilities and a steam-shower, also a bar area with comfortable seating, from where you can keep a watchful eye over the pool. As well as the BBQ, our traditional wood-burning bread-oven offers a unique way of cooking - anything from pizzas and bread to cassoulet and roast lamb. Dining al fresco in the shade of the summer house, overlooking the Peycibeau landscape is the perfect way to spend time with friends and family!
Because some of the bedrooms and living accommodation are on the ground floor and there are various wide entrances, with the help of very shallow ramps that can be put into situ if requested, many areas of the house are accessible by wheelchair. The swimming pool is also accessible by wheelchair from the house and again, with certain shallow ramps put into place, the summer house too. Please ask for more specific details about this.

We have WI-FI internet covering the house & grounds, and TV's are available in various rooms, for watching either Sky TV or DVDs and there are some radio/CD players. Electric gates to the estate ensure complete seclusion - visitors will be given an access code for the duration of their stay. There is ample parking close to the house.

Guests can roam around our 42 acres of private countryside - not another house in sight! - or relax in the gardens on the numerous terraces, which all have garden furniture, sun-beds and parasols. As well as the hours of fun to be had in the pool, children have the parkland all around to play safely in and the surrounding woods to explore - there is a wonderful tree-house and a large trampoline. For small children there is a play area with swings and a slide. The produce of our land is yours to enjoy: We have a well-stocked herb garden just outside the kitchen door, fruit trees and walnut trees, and wild mushrooms (if in doubt ask at the pharmacy in the village, where they will say which are edible - or not!)

We try to be environmentally conscious here at Peycibeau - the swimming pool is solar-heated, as is the domestic hot water. Rubbish is actively recycled.

The Village of Carsac is just 15 minutes walk away (2 minutes by car) and offers everything you need - a Boulangerie - for delicious bread and croissants every morning! - an excellent butcher, general store, post office (with cash machine), a chemist and doctor's surgery, the Tabac (bar) and a couple of restaurants, a Catholic church and the studio of our local artisan glass-blower.

The area is packed with interesting sights and things to do for adults and children alike – canoeing, castles and caves, lovely old towns, weekly markets, an abundance of culture and history, far too much to mention here. Please visit the owner’s web-site for full information
