Le Chaiseau is a 100-acre estate with its own 30-acre private lake. You can enjoy walking our miles of private woodland paths, fishing for carp, bream, black bass or silver fish in the lake or bird watching in our unspoiled meadows. Alternatively, you can just relax around the swimming pool in beautiful rural surroundings.  You need never leave the grounds if all that you require is a tranquil country holiday. Le Chaiseau is situated in the Departement Indre et Loire, to the East of Route N10, approximately halfway between Tours and Poitiers, and just off Route D50. The nearest towns are Le Petit Pressigny and Preuilly sur Claise. The quality of the fishing here at Le Chaiseau is one of the delights that bring our guests back time and again. Our 30-acre lake is well stocked with carp (up to 45lb), catfish, zander and black bass.

Le Chaiseau is very strategically located. If you are looking for a base from which to explore the famous Châteaux of the Loire, these are only a short drive away. If you have more modern tastes, Futuroscope at Poitiers is well worth a visit. For those who crave the sight and smell of the sea, La Rochelle and the Atlantic coast are well within reach of a day trip.

Within fifteen minutes' drive. The local area also provides attractions in the beautiful town of La Roche Posay, Angle sur Anglin and the historic (and prehistoric) charms of Le Grand Pressigny and Preuilly sur Claise. Azay le Ferron boasts both a beautiful château and a wildlife park and La Brenne National Park has famous bird watching and wildlife areas. Le Petit Pressigny itself has the attraction of the superb Michelin-starred "Promenade" Restaurant, which is well worth a visit. Le Petit Pressigny and Preuilly sur Claise have shops and restaurants to satisfy most requirements. Larger supermarkets can be found in La Roche Posay, Loches and Liguel, which are only a 15-minute drive away. For the full shopping experience, Tours and Poitiers offer all you could possibly desire.

The gîtes have been created within the structure of the original beamed farmhouse and the nearby barn conversion and are finished and furnished to the highest specification. All are equipped with all the appliances, utensils, crockery, cutlery and other facilities necessary for a comfortable holiday, and all have central heating. Barbeque and garden furniture, ample crockery, glasses and cutlery, kettle, coffee machine and toaster, satellite TV (UK free-to-air channels incl BBC1, 2,3,4 + radio) and video, dishwasher (except La Chouette) and washing machine, full cooker and microwave, fridge, sun loungers around pool, games equipment (boules, badminton)

L'Ecurie, (pictured above) accommodating up to 10 persons. Very large comfortable beamed lounge/diner with American kitchen, French doors to garden, Under floor heating, open fire (logs available in winter) 2 double bedrooms, both with en-suite shower room with wc and washbasin, 1 twin bedded bedroom, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds and 1 three quarter 120cm bed. Further shower room with wc and washbasin. All bedrooms will take an extra bed and a z bed is available if required

L'Hirondelle, accommodating up to 8 persons. Comfortable lounge with American kitchen, French doors to garden, central heating open fire (logs available in winter) ground floor double-bedded room, shower and washbasin (ground floor), separate wc (ground floor). Le Chardonneret, No Smoking. Accommodating up to 4 persons. Fitted kitchen, double bed settee in comfortable lounge, French doors to garden, central heating. One twin bedded bedroom on first floor, and shower room with wc and washbasin

La Chouette, No Smoking, for up to 3 persons. On the ground floor, overlooking the lake. Fitted kitchen/diner, comfortable lounge with bed-settee, French doors to garden, one double bedded bedroom, shower room with wc and washbasin.

The 10m x 6m outdoor swimming pool provides a means to cool off on those dreamy hot summer days, and adds a further attraction to the beautiful surroundings of Le Chaiseau
