Mas de Puech , Saint Jean de
Serres, Languedoc-Roussillon.
7 individual apartments, each
with it's own distinctive character.
Superb property with pool
Working vineyard
Mas de Puech is a
completely restored 19th century farmhouse and buildings. The
restoration process has taken 4 years, resulting in high quality modern
accommodation but with many of the original features retained. The
centre piece of the complex is the courtyard, with its fountain and
planted borders. One of the striking features is the recently completed
ecurie (stable) with its vaulted ceilings and floor lighting, this will
be used as a quiet area with the use of a library for the guests. This
stone building started in 1804 built on arched cellars, consists of
several buildings situated around a central courtyard, the property was
designed as a self contained estate with its own vineyard. All the
buildings are south facing, and surrounded by aromatic plants,
Mediterranean trees and vines. The large swimming pool with changing
room, shower and terrace area proved very popular with all our guests.
The Mas (old French farmhouse) is situated within its own vineyard
and at present has 18 hectares (45 acres) of vines under cultivation,
together with another 20 hectares (50 acres) of Garrigue (native
Mediterranean vegetation). At the present time we are in the middle of
extensive vine replanting programme.
The grape varieties grown include:
Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Cinsault, Carignan, Sauvignon blanc,
Chardonnay, Viognier.
The Accommodation:
The Mas and surrounding buildings have been converted into 7 individual
apartments, each with it's own distinctive character. The Mas is
situated in the middle of its own vines and it is possible to walk for
miles through the vines and garrigue, with only the natural beauty and
flora and fauna of the area for company.
If you are feeling more energetic and want to explore further you can
use one of the bikes which are available to all guests staying in the
Mas. Alternatively if you are feeling less energetic you can laze by the
pool and read a book from the library situated in the ecurie (stable).
Each apartment has been named with a grape variety grown in the vineyard
and all are fully equipped for your holiday pleasure, including
heating for the winter months.
