Mas Notre Dame, is situated very conveniently for the quiet sandy beach of Canadel.  It is a leisurely stroll along the Chemin de Fer to the safe beach, which has restaurants, sun loungers and the odd pedalo.  This is just one of half a dozen splendid sandy beaches in the local area, all with bars, restaurants and a variety of water sports.

Le Rayol Canadel is  on the largely un-spoilt coastline that lies west of St Tropez.  Our villa has stunning views from the terrace of the Iles d’Hyeres. We have large sun terraces, swimming pool and a small children’s pool with lots of room to sit and relax. From the villa set above the Corniche, 2km to the East is the small village of Le Rayol and to the West, Cavaliere sur mer. Both villages have local shops and restaurants. The local seaside towns of Le Lavandou and Cavalaire are about 10 minutes drive, both of which have large established marinas with ferries to the Islands of Port Cros and Porquerolles.  There are supermarkets, larger shops, many restaurants and weekly markets.

The local area sports:  Sailing, windsurfing schools and water skiing in Cavaliare, Tennis in Cavaliere and St Claire, Golf, 18 holes in St Maxime and la Londe plus practice golf in Cavaliere and Le Lavandou, Mini golf in Le Lavandou.

Of Interest:  Domaine de Rayol – botanical gardens, many vineyards in the Maures – the hills behind le/Rayol Canadel,  Markets – Huge markets most days somewhere in the vicinity, St Tropez – very busy in the summer period but still worth a visit.

The Accommodation:

The rooms are arranged on two floors.  On the main floor (entrance level) is the kitchen/breakfast room with modern units and appliances which include a Maytag side by side fridge freezer with ice maker and filtered water dispenser, stainless steel double oven, fitted microwave, dishwasher plus plenty of crockery, cutlery glasses etc. 

Living room and Terraces (entrance level): The living room is comfortably furnished with two three seat settees, television CD player and radio.  The room faces south west and along it’s length is a covered terrace with arches giving views of the sea and the islands of Hyeres.  

Two bedrooms: One double bedroom with double bed, an en-suite shower room with toilet and hand washbasin. The bedroom has double doors to the terrace. One double bedroom with twin beds, an en-suite bathroom with bath, toilet and twin wash hand basins.  Double doors open onto the terrace. W.C. in the entrance hall.
Spiral staircase to the lower level – or access can be gained from the outside.

Lower floor: One double bedroom, with two single beds an en-suite shower room with toilet and wash hand basin. One double bedroom with queen size bed.  This bedroom has an adjacent shower room. Between these two rooms is a small  room with a double bed  making an ideal family suite.   This area has doors to the swimming pool terrace. On this level are a large basement sitting room with television and video and sofa bed , the laundry room with washing machine, iron and ironing board.

Outside: The villa has large areas of terrace, some covered and some open.  The pool has an 8 x 4, Western Red Cedar sun deck.  The pool is fully tiled with a salt sanitation system, there is also a small children’s pool. The swimming pool has an electrically operated safety cover. We have a gas BBQ and somewhere to play boules as well as many places just to sit and be quiet.
