Villa Paraisette, Menton, Cote
D'Azur Paraisette is a recently built villa in traditional provencal style, situated on the hills facing Menton. Most uniquely, each room of the villa offers a spectacular view of the "vieille ville" (old city) of Menton and the Mediterranean. It has been built to provide comfort and relaxation, while retaining some features of the typical "cabanon" (traditional country house) it once was.
Two master suites have large private terraces; a third one opens onto
a partially planted garden. The garden includes semitropical plants and
trees which could not survive without the wonderful climate of Menton.
From the covered parking garage, about 30 easy steps take you to the
house. The covered outdoor dining area with its wood-burning barbecue
allows practically year-round outside dining. All the rooms are linked by
stairs, but one of the rooms also has separate access providing an ideal
situation for, say, one family and another couple.
The villa is about five minutes from the beaches and 3 km from the city of Menton. A few more minutes drive takes you either to Italy (Bordighera and San Remo) or to Monte Carlo, Monaco and Nice. Nearby services and facilities include: Babysitting, Groceries, Restaurants, Craft-Shopping, Marina, Beaches, Beachcombing, Swimming, Boating, Yachting, Sailing, Water-Skiing, Wind-Surfing, Para-Sailing, Kayaking, Casinos, Golfing, Tennis, Mountain-Climbing, Canyoning, Eco-Tourism, Caves, Ocean Library, Museums, Cinemas, Churches, ATM/Bank, Medical-Services, Hospital, Amusement-Parks, Theme-Parks, Ruins, Arboretum, Sight-Seeing, in fact everything to make your holiday as pleasant as possible. Nestled at the foothills of the Maritime Alps, Menton is a charming town on the French Riviera, located at the Franco-Italian border. Menton dates back to the Paleolithic age and was originally owned by the Grimaldi family from 1346 until 1848 when it officially became French. During the 19th century, Menton knew much fame because of its warm climate; many famous people chose to take their vacation in the small town. The town retains its old world charm and much of what there is to see and do in Menton dates back to the beginnings of the town. Perhaps the most famous aspect of Menton is its world-renowned gardens. Menton’s motto is "Ma ville est un jardin," meaning "My city is a garden" and this town lives up to its motto. Due to its microclimate, Menton is an ideal place to grow plants of sub-tropical or temperate climate origins. Its southeast position and latitude cause Menton to receive a lot of sunlight, the sea helps to provide for enough rain for the growth of the plants, and the Alps shield Menton from the harsh, cold winds. There are eight gardens in Menton considered exceptional, including the Serre de la Madone, the Le Val Rahmeh, the Fontana Rosa, and the Maria Serena garden. |
