L’obit is a beautiful restored farmhouse nestling in 6 acres of private gardens & woodlands, just 4km from Fanjeaux. This is very private & peaceful property with just the occasional distant sounds of farmers ploughing their fields. Fanjeaux is a  historic hilltop town where all amenities can be found including bars  an excellent restaurant and a large bakers where fresh bread is always found. With a truly enviable location amidst privacy & peacefulness there is to be found a wealth of charm, beauty & history within striking distance of the property. The medieval bastide town of Mirepoix is less than 15 mins drive where you can people watch in one of the many bars &  restaurants in the historic square. Here there is a regional market every Monday all year round.
The ancient cité of Carcassonne is some 25 mins drive only, with its fairytale appearance & bustling atmosphere and 45 mins takes you to the higher Pyrenees & ski resorts are less than 1 hour away.
There are the Cathar castles to be explored & the amazing rose coloured city of Toulouse is also less than 1 hr from the property. Head south on the A61 & 1 hour will see you on the sunny beaches of the Mediterranean, 2 hours & you will be in Northern Spain

Accommodation: L’obit is a  wonderfully restored 300 yr old farmhouse with large south facing poolside terraces & gardens. There is also a sheltered seating area outside for when the sunshine is too strong too sit in. The large swimming pool is treated by ultraviolet therefore there is no chlorine & benefits from a heating system also great for those early & late summer holidays. The house also has a full central heating system making it a great year round holiday rental.

As you enter the house on the first level from the front there is  small living area from which the laundry room (washing machine & tumble dryer), full bathroom  & one twin bedroom are to be found. The passage way then leads to a further 3 bedrooms; 2 doubles & 1 twin , each  with en-suite facilities.
A staircase then takes you down to the main living/dining area which is very spacious & well furnished making it comfortable for 8-10 people. There is also a sofa bed in this lounge area. From here there are doors opening onto the poolside terraces.
The kitchen too is found on this level & is large & very well equipped indeed for a holiday home, this is truly an owners second home . A good size breakfast table is in the kitchen also.

Nearest international airport is Toulouse. Carcassonne Airport  25 mins. A61 access 15 mins drive.
