Chalet
Le Yeti, Mussillon, Meribel les Allues. Chalet Le Yeti has been equipped to give guests the holiday of a lifetime. It is a luxury wood and stone chalet that sleeps 12, offering six bedrooms and five bathrooms. It is situated in the Mussillon area of Meribel, a 5 minute walk from the centre of Meribel and a 2 minute walk from both the main Meribel nightclub and supermarket. The ski slopes are a 1 minute drive away, an eight minute walk. There is also a free bus service. The chalet is blissfully quiet, being just outside the centre of Meribel. But, of course, bar's and the bustle of Meribel are within easy reach! During the Olympics the chalet was used by CBS VIP's, they are among many satisfied guests. The chalet is a place for relaxation. It has been furnished with this aim. (For instance, the front door has an electric combination lock, just close it in the mornings and punch in the numbers at night - no need for keys). The resort is a traditional Alpine village and has much charm. All buildings are finished in stone and wood and have sloping roofs. In 1992 it was a major centre for the Olympic Games; hosting all the women's Alpine ski events, and the ice hockey tournament. There is now an Olympic ice rink, bowling and an indoor swimming pool, with slide, among other facilities. Snow scooters can be hired in Meribel Mottaret. Summer in Meribel Meribel offers a wide variety of attractions during the summer. The 18-hole golf course is magnificent and the tuition is well run and very social. The swimming pool, ice rink and climbing wall are all open. Mountain walks and mountain biking (you can take your bicycle up the mountain on various cable cars) are wonderful activities. The cows are grazing on the mountainsides, and a picnic in the middle of nowhere in the fresh air and if you're lucky under a blazing sun is a memorable experience. There is also tennis, clay pigeon shooting, horse riding, paragliding, and fishing at Lake Tueda. For the more adventurous there is white-water rafting and canyoning, these are both fantastic experiences. Excellent courses are run for children of all ages. Full details on all activities are available from the Meribel tourist office or on the Meribel web site www.Meribel.net. The chalet is an excellent place to relax, deckchairs are provided; meals are easy to prepare with the wide range of excellent ingredients available in the local shops, supermarket and the market which visits about twice a week. A week could therefore comprise golf, canyoning, white-water rafting, mountain biking and a visit to the wonderful lake at Annecy. The choices are all yours. To make a good summer holiday, why not spend one week in Meribel and then drive on for a week in the South of France.
