Gite 1 - Two bedrooms, sleeps 4-6, wheelchair accessible
Gite 2 - Two bedrooms, sleeps 4-7
Gites 3 and 4 - Both have four bedrooms, sleeps 10-12, wheelchair
accessible
Gite 5 - Six bedrooms, sleeps 12-14
A renovated farmstead in the fertile lower Calvados region of Normandy.
It is close to Falaise, the Normandy landing beaches and Bayeux and is
set in beautiful countryside. There are 5 self-catering cottages, three
of which are wheelchair accessible. The facilities on site include a
solar heated swimming pool and a large indoor play area.
All Gites have private patio and garden with garden furniture, BBQ
and private parking.
The region offers cream and Calvados, cheese and cider, chateaux and
gardens, beaches, walking, golf, canoeing, wind surfing, riding and
sailing. Children are well catered for. Then there are the cities of
Rouen, Rennes, Caen, Bayeux and its Tapestry; Mont St. Michel, Monet's
Garden, the castle of William the Conqueror, Pegasus Bridge, the ports
of Honfleur and Deauville and the heart rending story of the 1944 Battle
of Normandy.
The Accommodation:
Gite 1 : wheelchair
accessible, occupies the ground floor of an old renovated
farmhouse with level access to the private patio & garden. Larose is
fully equipped including a washing machine, gas central heating and a
wood burning fire in the large stone fireplace. There are two twin
bedrooms and a double futon in the lounge area and can accommodate 4-6
people.
Gite 2
: occupies the first floor of a renovated farmhouse and is entered
by means of an outside staircase from the private garden. It is light
and spacious and can comfortably accommodate 4 to 7 people. Electrical
heaters in every room guarantee comfort and there is a constant supply
of hot water. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, microwave,
fridge freezer, washing machine and all necessary tableware and
utensils.
Gites 3
: wheelchair accessible,
completed in 1998, this is the renovated bakery of the little hamlet of
la Hamberie. The internal structure of truly massive oak beams has been
retained and featured in the restoration.
With separate kitchen, dining room and lounge this gite can accommodate up
to 12 people. Le Fournil has 4 bedrooms, two of which are en-suite. It
is equipped with full gas fired central heating, dishwasher and all the
usual facilities.
Gites 4
: wheelchair accessible,
was renovated as a holiday cottage in 2000. It began life as a dwelling
house many years before the French revolution. We have restored it to
its original purpose using, as far as was possible, the traditional
methods and including all modern facilities. There are 4 bedrooms and up
to 12 people can be accommodated.
Gites 5
: This magnificent farm house which forms the centrepiece of the
farm has been equipped as a self-catering gite to accommodate up to 14
people. There are 6 en-suite bedrooms, a large dining kitchen and a
salon in the style of the 18th century. The entrance hall leads to an
open stone staircase. The ground floor is paved throughout in Caen
Stone. The fully equipped kitchen/dining room which can seat 14 at the
large kitchen table has a wood burning fire in the original fireplace.
The salon, carefully restored and decorated in the colours and the
styles of its period also has a wood burning fire in its carved stone
fireplace. The private garden and patio are accessed from the salon via
French windows.
